Publishing Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and enthusiastic individual to join our Behavioral and Social Sciences journals team as a Publishing Assistant. The role provides essential administrative and project‑management support for a portfolio of roughly 50 Springer journal titles, working closely with two Publishers and an Executive Publisher.

Key responsibilities

• Understand publishing workflows and help journals meet annual targets for submissions, publications, and turnaround times.
• Prepare contracts, monitor and request payments, and maintain accurate internal records.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and professional communication to Editors‑in‑Chief, Editorial Board members, society partners, authors, and reviewers.
• Prepare materials for team reports, conferences, and board meetings using PowerPoint, Looker, and internal databases.
• Support decision‑making and reporting by gathering and presenting relevant data.

• Motivation to learn the ropes of scholarly and scientific publishing.
