Public Safety Trainer Instructor (Metro RYDC)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Public Safety Trainer Instructor to develop and deliver staff development courses for enforcement and prevention. Working under supervision, you will lead training initiatives that enhance the skills of public safety personnel across the Metro RYDC region.

Key responsibilities

• Act as lead trainer for public safety training staff.
• Administer and score tests, quizzes, and field‑exercise evaluations.
• Develop and update instructional materials and teaching aids.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Maintain accurate training records and issue certificates.
• Plan, coordinate, and schedule multiple training courses or programs.
• Rate trainees during field exercises and enforce safety protocols.
• Provide hands‑on instruction in critical public safety skills and techniques.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in law enforcement, corrections, firefighting, EMS, or rescue services.
• Minimum one year of experience providing training as an adjunct instructor or field training officer.
• Eligibility to obtain Georgia P.O.S.T. General Instructor certification and any required specialty certifications.
