Part-Time Security Officer, Front Desk

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, offers a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Front Desk position in Decatur, GA. The role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the option to pick up extra shifts through a claim-a-shift program, building toward a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The pay rate is $16.90 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, patients, staff and vendors at a government public health front desk, following site procedures and security policies.
• Monitor access to the facility, verify visitor authorization, issue visitor credentials when applicable and keep accurate entry records.
• Receive and direct visitors, answer phones, give general information and communicate professionally with facility personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, notifying the right people or emergency responders as site procedures require.
• Stay aware of front desk activity and report unusual or security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18 or older for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
• Applicants undergo a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
