Psychology Subject Matter Expert (Insider Threat)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Psychology Subject Matter Expert to support its U.S. Department of Energy and Counterintelligence (DOE-IN) contract. The position is based in the Washington, D.C. area and focuses on insider threat prevention and risk assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychological and insider threat consultation on detection, deterrence, mitigation and response.
• Advise on polygraph issues from a medical or psychological perspective.
• With government oversight, support the development, delivery and updating of insider threat awareness education, including behavioral indicators and methods to detect, deter, prevent and respond to insider acts, and psychological issues affecting access determinations and national or nuclear security.

Required profile

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Master's degree, PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or M.D.
• At least 10 years of experience applying psychological and/or medical concerns to national security.
• Specialized expertise in identifying and interpreting behaviors linked to national security concerns.
• Training and experience in using knowledge of personal predispositions, mental health issues and concerning behaviors to conduct threat assessments and formulate risk reduction strategies.
