About the role
Greystar is seeking a Property Accountant to support third‑party property operations. The role applies GAAP principles to analyze financial data, reconcile statements, and produce reports that guide management decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Compile and analyze financial information for entry into statements and reports, ensuring accurate journal entries.
- Review budgets, revenues, expenses, payroll entries, invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform bank reconciliations, wire transfers, mortgage payments, and distributions.
- Maintain accounting controls, analyze revenue/expenditure trends, and recommend budget levels.
- Assist with financial analysis for property acquisitions, dispositions, and funding transactions.
- Act as liaison for internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations.
- Coordinate with on‑site and property managers to support close‑out activities and timely reporting.
- Prepare various financial, accounting, and administrative reports as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and property accounting principles.
- Experience with budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and propose solutions.
