Project Manager – General Construction (Federal Healthcare)

About the role

The company, a respected private general contractor, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead federal healthcare construction projects from kickoff to closeout. This position focuses on project leadership, client interaction, and safe, profitable execution while the pre‑construction team handles estimating and subcontractor procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all project management activities from startup through completion and closeout.
• Manage schedules, budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and federal client stakeholders.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and project partners.
• Monitor safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
• Oversee contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and documentation.
• Facilitate project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
• Collaborate with field operations to support execution.
• Identify risks and develop proactive mitigation solutions.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, contract requirements, and regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of construction project management experience.
• Proven success managing commercial, institutional, healthcare, or federal projects.
• Experience with $5‑30 million projects preferred.
• Federal healthcare construction background highly desirable.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
