Project Manager – Federal Healthcare Construction

About the role

The company, a respected private general contractor, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead federal healthcare construction projects from kickoff through closeout. The role focuses on project leadership, client interaction, and safe, profitable delivery while the pre‑construction team handles estimating and subcontractor procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all project management activities from startup to final closeout.
• Manage schedules, budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and federal client stakeholders.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and project partners.
• Monitor safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
• Oversee contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and documentation.
• Facilitate project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
• Collaborate with field operations to support execution.
• Identify risks and develop proactive mitigation solutions.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, contract requirements, and regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of construction project management experience.
• Proven success on commercial, institutional, healthcare, or federal projects.
• Experience managing $5‑30 million projects (preferred).
• Federal healthcare construction experience highly desirable.
• Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management and construction management software platforms.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and cost control.
• Ability to review construction drawings, specifications, and related documents.
