Project Manager – Federal Design‑Build Construction

About the role
Our client, a leading federal construction sub‑contractor, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead large‑scale design‑build projects in Texas. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, from pre‑construction planning through close‑out, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met for high‑value infrastructure supporting national security initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day execution of federal design‑build construction projects.
- Create, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using MS Project.
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and federal stakeholders.
- Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and all project documentation.
- Review and markup drawings with Bluebeam.
- Ensure compliance with federal requirements, safety standards, and quality controls.
- Support estimating and pre‑construction activities using HeavyBid/HeavyJob.
Required profile
- 5–8+ years of experience as a construction Project Manager.
- Experience with general contractors or electrical, civil, steel, mechanical, or structural subcontractors.
- Proven track record managing projects with budgets over $15 million.
- Federal construction experience (CBP, USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, DHS, AF, city/state or municipal).
