Project Manager – Federal Construction Design‑Build

About the role

Our client, a leading federal construction sub‑contractor, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead large‑scale design‑build projects that support national security infrastructure in Texas and Arizona. The role will oversee projects from pre‑construction through close‑out, ensuring they meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day execution of federal design‑build construction projects valued over $15 million.
• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using MS Project.
• Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and federal stakeholders.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Perform drawing review and mark‑ups using Bluebeam.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, safety standards, and quality controls.
• Support estimating and pre‑construction activities with HeavyBid/HeavyJob as needed.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of experience as a construction Project Manager.
• Experience with a General Contractor or a subcontractor in electrical, civil, steel, mechanical, or structural trades.
• Proven track record managing self‑perform work and projects exceeding $15 million.
• Federal construction experience (CBP, USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, DHS, AF, DOT, municipal).

What we offer

• Salary range $120,000 – $160,000 per year.
• Local candidates preferred; $150/day per diem for non‑local hires.
• Company car and gas card provided.
• Funded work through August 2028 with regular Monday‑Friday schedule (7 am‑4 pm) and on‑site presence 4‑5 days a week.
