Project Manager - COSMOS Mission Operations

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Project Manager to support the Project Management Office for the Contract for Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS), NASA's next-generation mission operations contract at Johnson Space Center. COSMOS provides mission control services, advanced training systems and full-scale spacecraft mockups for astronaut preparation and engineering analysis. The Project Manager leads each assigned project from initiation to closeout as the single accountable owner for scope, schedule, budget, technical coordination, communications and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation through closeout and integrate technical, financial, scheduling and risk management activities.
• Develop and maintain project plans and coordinate work across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Track procurement milestones and ensure timely delivery to meet project schedules.
• Manage approved requirements, realistic schedules and their impacts on stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and communicate them promptly.
• Balance competing priorities while maintaining customer commitments and supporting mission objectives.
• Work with systems engineers, software engineers, release managers, customers and supporting organizations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of general experience, or a Master's degree and 1 year of general experience.
• Ability to obtain a NASA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.
• Proven track record of working under tight deadlines, strong team-building and communication skills, and ability to work independently.
• Desired: Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, Computer Science or Project Management, PMP certification, and experience with Office 365 tools.
