Project Engineer – Turreted Weapon Systems

About the role

Moog is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of turreted weapon systems for military platforms. The role combines mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to deliver high‑performance solutions in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the design and development phase of turreted weapon systems from contract award through production transition.
• Lead a multidisciplinary technical team, providing guidance to mechanical, electrical, and software design engineers.
• Develop, prototype, integrate, and debug complex systems composed of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
• Maintain configuration management and an accurate Bill of Materials throughout the program.
• Prepare technical reports, data items, presentations, and test plans for internal and customer acceptance.
• Define tooling and test equipment needs, and create assembly work instructions.
• Collaborate with supply chain to identify components that meet program requirements.
• Support field testing, proposal development, business development, and continuous improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience with complex electro‑mechanical systems, preferably in military or aerospace applications.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with configuration control of complex systems.
• Ability to understand dynamic control architectures, performance simulations, hardware drawings, schematics, and device specifications.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required.
