Project Engineer

About the role

Erickson‑Hall Construction Co., a fast‑growing, employee‑owned construction firm in Southern California, is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Santa Monica office. The role offers the chance to develop engineering and construction expertise while contributing to high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage submittals and requests for information (RFIs).
• Review incoming submittals before forwarding to the owner.
• Update and maintain project baseline and weekly schedules.
• Assist and manage work plans, post‑plans, and pre‑plan processes.
• Perform quantity take‑offs, prepare proposals, and support project safety initiatives.
• Interpret engineering, architectural, and construction drawings.
• Ensure compliance with construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Utilize software for job costing, reporting, collaboration, scheduling, and estimating.
• Create or support weekly meeting agendas and manage project documentation.
• Assist with environmental permits and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or a Construction Management certification.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
• Familiarity with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Bluebeam is preferred.
