Project Architect – Residential & Mixed-Use Projects

About the role
You will own projects from design development through construction administration, collaborating closely with the principal on residential and mixed‑use assignments in New York City. The position emphasizes project leadership and design production within a small, design‑driven studio.
Key responsibilities
- Lead projects through schematic design (SD), design development (DD), construction documents (CD), and construction administration (CA) phases.
- Produce and review construction documents, details, and specifications.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and code/permitting agencies such: the DOB and LPC.
- Manage client communications, including meetings and progress updates.
- Mentor junior staff as needed.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure quality control on deliverables.
Required profile
- Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure (NCARB record in progress is a plus).
- 7+ years of experience, preferably on NYC residential or mixed‑use projects, with ability to own a project with minimal oversight.
- Strong knowledge of NYC Building Code, zoning, and permitting processes.
- Self‑directed, detail‑oriented, and collaborative in a small‑studio environment.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.

What we offer
- Competitive salary range of $100,000 – $120,000 annually.
