Project Architect – High-End Residential Design

About the role

Starling Architecture is seeking a seasoned Project Architect to lead the design and delivery of high‑end residential projects across Brooklyn, Westchester, the East End, and NYC. You will work directly with principals and clients, overseeing projects from concept through construction punch‑list.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery across all phases, from schematic design to construction administration.
• Develop and coordinate construction document sets, integrating structural, MEP, and other consultant inputs.
• Manage day‑to‑day communication with clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and conduct site visits.
• Navigate code compliance, zoning, and agency approvals as required.
• Mentor junior staff and uphold studio workflow and quality standards.
• Research materials, products, detailing, and specifications.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of professional experience in residential or high‑end custom architecture.
• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch); licensure preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of construction detailing, building systems, and construction administration.
• Familiarity with NYC and/or Westchester/Long Island codes and zoning is a plus.
• Excellent communication and client‑relationship skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in Rhino.
• Experience with Enscape (strong plus).
