Project Accountant

About the role

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is a people‑focused, award‑winning consulting firm offering civil, geotechnical, environmental, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying and construction services. Due to continued growth, MSG is seeking a self‑motivated Project Accountant. Prior experience in architecture, engineering, or construction firms is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for invoicing in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate contract information, including client and subcontractor agreements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Principals to prepare project budgets and related contract data.
• Set up and maintain projects in Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software.
• Track monthly invoices, service requests and change orders, occasionally visiting other offices.
• Assist Project Managers and corporate leadership with collections, receivables and payables.
• Coordinate with clients and subcontractors’ accounting departments.
• Perform additional accounting duties such as accounts payable and unit entry.

Required profile

• Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in architecture, engineering, or construction.
• Experience in professional service firms is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented problem solver with strong analytical skills.
