Programme Management Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund needs a Programme Management Consultant to fill a critical capacity gap in its PMO. The consultant will support the delivery of the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) project while maintaining oversight of the wider project portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and managing stakeholder communication.
• Ensure projects follow PMO governance standards, monitor status, quality and performance, and provide updates to senior management.
• Support design, implementation and continuous improvement of the ServiceNow SPM platform, including workflows, dashboards and reporting.
• Mentor project managers, foster cross‑functional collaboration and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Align the project portfolio with the organization’s strategic vision, assisting senior leadership with prioritisation, resource planning and benefits tracking.
• Maintain and enhance executive dashboards, portfolio health reports and comprehensive project documentation.
• Collaborate with risk management, security, business transformation and communication units to mitigate risks and ensure smooth change management.
• Manage relationships with the ServiceNow license provider and system integrator to ensure smooth operation.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in business, management, economics, computer science, information systems or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, preferably in a multicultural environment.
• Professional project‑management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
• Demonstrated experience applying Strategic Portfolio Management practices in a PMO or enterprise setting.
• Experience with ServiceNow SPM implementation and with pension/financial ERP systems.
