Program Manager – Middle Mile Fleet Optimization

About the role

Amazon’s Middle Mile team is seeking a hands‑on Program Manager to lead the launch, management and scaling of innovative pilot programs that improve defect detection across our trailer fleet. The role is based in Arlington, VA, Tempe, AZ or Bellevue, WA and requires a blend of strategic thinking and meticulous execution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee multiple simultaneous pilot programs within the middle‑mile fleet and transportation domain.
• Define success metrics, pull and analyse daily data, and present trends to inform decision‑making.
• Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor progress across cross‑functional teams.
• Partner with external vendors and internal operations groups to execute pilots and evaluate outcomes.
• Develop and deliver clear reports and presentations for senior leadership, including VP‑level stakeholders.
• Assess pilot performance on a four‑to‑six‑week cycle and recommend scaling or course correction.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives, manage vendor pricing agreements and improve spend efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a geographically distributed team, providing guidance and direction.

Required profile

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and deliver measurable results.
• High degree of autonomy with comfort navigating ambiguous problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to work in a fast‑paced, start‑up‑like environment.
