Program Manager – Marine Conservation

About the role

The Robert K. Johnson Center for Marine Conservation at the University of Miami seeks a full‑time Program Manager to advance its research, communications, strategic planning, and outreach initiatives. The role bridges science and society, supporting interdisciplinary projects, partnership development, public and K‑12 education, and student engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multi‑stakeholder initiatives, grant‑funded projects, and program deliverables.
• Cultivate and sustain partnerships across the university, government agencies, NGOs, and industry.
• Coordinate public outreach and K‑12 education activities, including events and curriculum support.
• Assist with grant writing, proposal development, and fundraising efforts.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and convenings to advance the Center’s strategic goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in marine conservation, natural sciences, social sciences, or related interdisciplinary field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Demonstrated success in public and K‑12 outreach, partnership coordination, and project management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate technical content for diverse audiences.
