About the role
The State of Georgia’s Education Department seeks a Program Director for its Psychology program. This full‑time, 12‑month position reports to the Dean of Education and combines academic leadership with hands‑on teaching.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop curriculum and course outlines for the psychology program.
- Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per quarter, including day and evening courses.
- Recruit, advise, and support students throughout their academic journey.
- Prepare and manage program budgets, request supplies, and maintain equipment.
- Oversee adjunct faculty, ensuring quality instruction and compliance.
- Participate in college committees, professional development activities, and accreditation processes.
- Maintain documentation, administrative reports, and safety standards in training areas.
- Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
Required profile
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, mental health, or a related field (or Master’s with 18 graduate hours in the discipline).
- Demonstrated experience with diverse teaching strategies and advanced instructional technologies.
- Strong collaboration skills with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Occupational competency and computer literacy with common software applications.
Required skills
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
- Ability to deliver online instruction and utilize learning management systems.
