Program Director, Child Welfare Services

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Program Director to lead its Child Welfare Services division in Savannah. This senior leadership position oversees the administration of policies and programs that protect children and families, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the agency management team and set goals, objectives, policies, and procedures aligned with the agency’s mission.
• Analyze and assess program effectiveness, ensuring outcome measures are achieved.
• Evaluate new and existing programs for efficiency, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
• Direct professional staff in skill development, quality service delivery, and documentation.
• Promote program awareness within the community and ensure timely delivery of services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the County Director.

Required profile

• Demonstrated successful leadership experience, including the ability to lead change.
• Reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, a valid state‑issued driver’s license, and an acceptable driving history.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
