Program Director – Behavioral Health

About the role

Wise Path Recovery Center, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, seeks an experienced Program Director to lead its behavioral health program in Williamson, WV. This senior leader will shape a trauma‑informed, patient‑centered environment and drive high‑quality substance use disorder treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for clinical, recovery, and program staff, fostering employee engagement and an excellent patient experience.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and retain high‑performing team members while managing performance and corrective actions.
• Direct daily program operations, ensuring safety, quality, and consistency of care in line with ARS standards.
• Maintain compliance with West Virginia licensing, Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements, overseeing incident reporting and survey readiness.
• Collaborate with admissions, clinical teams, and community partners to support census growth and continuity of care.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience in substance use disorder treatment, healthcare, or related operations.
• Three or more years supervising staff with direct reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services, business, management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation (Joint Commission preferred).
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
