Program Coordinator – Field Education

About the role

The Program Coordinator is the daily face of Field Education for visiting schools, families, and partners, ensuring each participant’s experience reflects Teton Science Schools’ mission and place‑based education philosophy.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary host and point of contact for visiting groups, managing logistics from arrival through departure.
• Facilitate daily program operations, including orientations, transitions, group movement, and communication between partners, instructors, and campus teams.
• Support field‑based educators by providing logistical assistance, real‑time coaching, and instructional backup during high‑intensity days.
• Lead operational focus areas such as gear management, backpacking systems, and teaching supplies, ensuring equipment readiness and efficient tracking.
• Contribute to campus and field stewardship, supporting facilities, shared spaces, and hospitality initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, environmental science, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in outdoor, experiential, or place‑based education.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including public speaking and group facilitation.
• Wilderness First Responder, CPR, and AED certification (or ability to obtain before start).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using digital communication tools.
