About the role
The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Professor of Pathology to lead research, teach residents, fellows and medical students, and contribute to departmental and university service.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and mentor pathology residents, fellows, and medical students.
- Supervise graduate and medical student research projects.
- Secure and expand NIH and other research funding for the department.
- Maintain JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA accreditation standards.
- Participate in departmental committees, hospital working groups, and medical school committees related to CFAR missions.
- Lead a NIH‑funded research program focused on HIV/AIDS.
- Collaborate with investigators across the university.
Required profile
- PhD, MD, or DO with board certification or eligibility.
- Proven record of research productivity and grant acquisition.
- Experience with quality‑improvement methods and team‑based models.
- Knowledge of JCAHO, CAP, CLIA regulations and hazardous material handling.
- Familiarity with IRB requirements for clinical samples and cohorts.
- Strong communication skills for diverse professional audiences.
