Professor of Clinical Pathology & Neuropathology

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Professor to provide clinical pathology and laboratory medicine services, with a focus on anatomic pathology and neuropathology for patients at UMH, JMH, and affiliated centers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform gross description, tissue sampling, microscopic examination, frozen sections, rapid on‑site diagnoses, and brain autopsies in a timely manner.
• Provide patient care services across University of Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Sylvester Cancer Comprehensive Center, and satellite locations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, resident and fellow education, and medical student teaching.
• Engage in collaborative basic, clinical, or applied research and pursue grant funding.
• Maintain compliance with JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, and hazardous material regulations.

Required profile

• MD or DO, board certified or eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both; additional board certifications are desirable.
• Florida medical license.
• Strong knowledge in neuropathology and ability to make independent diagnostic recommendations.
• Experience with quality‑improvement tools and team‑based process improvement.
• Effective communication skills to work within a diverse professional workforce.
