Professor of Clinical and Anatomic Pathology

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Professor of Clinical – Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Anatomic to provide expert patient care, education, and research across its hospitals and cancer center.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care services at UMH, JMH, SCCC and satellite locations, including gross description, tissue sampling, microscopic examination, and timely reporting of findings.
• Perform frozen section diagnoses and autopsies promptly when required.
• Provide 24‑hour call coverage for the assigned division.
• Participate in the education of pathology residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Engage in collaborative basic, clinical, or applied research and pursue grant funding.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities and departmental committees to maintain JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA accreditation.

Required profile

• MD or DO, board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both; additional board certifications desirable.
• Florida medical license.
• Strong knowledge of surgical pathology, intra‑operative evaluations, hematopathology, and laboratory medicine.
• Familiarity with JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA regulations.
• Ability to work independently, make reliable diagnoses, and communicate effectively in a diverse workforce.
