Production Technician

About the role

Adient is hiring Production Technicians in its Normal facility, reporting to the Production Supervisor. The team member assembles finished products from sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners according to customer specifications and Adient's ODSs. Both 1st and 2nd shifts are open: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm to 3:00 am.

Key responsibilities

• Check the standard operating procedure for each run to identify required assembly, quality checks and special options.
• Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners, and notify the material handler of shortages or incorrect parts.
• Check for the designed carton pack.
• Check operating controls and safety stops on the conveyor.
• Assemble components by checking connections for correct fit and fastening parts and sub-assemblies per customer order.
• Resolve assembly and packing problems from experience, and report other problems to maintenance or the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and perform 5S cleanup daily.
• Abide by the company handbook on safety rules and job rotations, and report unsafe conditions and acts.
• Participate in safety committees, safety audits, safety observation feedback and plant-wide meetings and training.
