Launch Manager

About the role

Adient is hiring a Launch Manager in Normal, Illinois, within its Operations department. The role reports to the Plant Manager and acts as the central link between the plant and the SDT team, coordinating product launches across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main coordinator across all departments in the plant and the central point of contact between the plant and the SDT team.
• Develop detailed launch plans and drive completion of key milestones for a successful product launch.
• Manage the New Product Launch Manufacturing Readiness Report, notify management early of risks, and support the resolution of open product and process launch issues.
• Lead process launch issue resolution and track actions through closure.
• Conduct component design reviews with the Launch SDT and ensure process controls (poka-yoke) are identified in the Control Plan and FMEA and implemented in assembly and manufacturing.
• Ensure timely resolution of Launch PRRs and customer concerns, and initiate corrective actions for non-conformities in products, processes and quality systems.
• Hold non-conforming products back from further processing, delivery or installation until defects are fixed.
• Develop training plans and tracking methods so employees are trained on new products and process assignments.

Required profile

• Post-secondary education; a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Industrial Engineering (BSIE) or an equivalent field is preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of manufacturing experience and 5 to 10 years of product design experience.
• Experience in customer management.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and ability to expedite design and process changes in response to received QRs.

Required skills

• Coordination of QS9000 implementation for existing systems.
• Process development for ODS in Place and Visual Management initiatives.

• Salary range of $98,200-$164,000.
