Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

About the role

Axalta is looking for a Production Supervisor (2nd shift) for its facility in Houston, TX. The supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient and consistent execution of daily manufacturing operations in their assigned area, leads front-line employees, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards and delivers against production, cost and delivery targets. The role reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily shift operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity and schedule attainment.
• Enforce safety policies, housekeeping standards and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions to close performance gaps.
• Ensure adherence to standard work, operating procedures and quality requirements.
• Coordinate staffing, work assignments and shift coverage to meet production needs.
• Identify and escalate operational, safety, quality and equipment concerns.
• Lead shift handoffs, team meetings and daily communication activities.
• Train, coach and develop employees, and support continuous improvement, problem-solving and process optimization.
• Maintain accurate production, inventory and operational records.

Required profile

• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or production supervision experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Experience in powder coatings, paints, chemical manufacturing, coatings or other process manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing hourly production employees.
• Ability to analyze operational KPIs, run root cause analysis and communicate across departments and shifts.
• Visible leadership presence on the production floor.

Required skills

• Production scheduling, workforce planning, quality systems and process controls.
• Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 6S, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence experience preferred.
• Proficiency with production reporting, inventory management and recordkeeping.

What we offer

• Expected compensation of $80,000 - $95,000 USD annually, with benefits such as health insurance and paid time off.
• Salary depends on qualifications, experience, skillset and location.
