Production Seat Assembler - Night Shift

About the role

Adient is hiring a Seat Assembly Operator for its West Point facility on the second shift (8:30 PM to Sunday through Thursday, until finished). The operator works as a team member in the manufacturing of quality automotive seating units, using inspection, knowledge of the product and processes, and sound judgment to keep scrap, rework and delays to a minimum. A $2.00 night shift differential applies.

Key responsibilities

• Complete assembly of automotive seating units while maintaining good housekeeping, safety, quality and efficiency standards.
• Perform line assembly and/or support operations to mass produce seating units in accordance with specifications.
• Build parts according to the Operator Description Sheets and rotate through different workstations.
• Control processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the issue is corrected.
• Restock work areas as needed and monitor production material quantities, reporting shortages.
• Inspect work in progress and solve workplace issues.
• Use hand-held pneumatic tools, torque guns, ergonomic arms and assembly fixtures; bolt, clip or screw parts together.
• Lift and carry seating components frequently; lift assist devices are provided.

Required profile

• Able to lift 25 lbs and stand for at least 2 hours at a time.
• Able to walk, stand, reach, lift, bend, pull and push to move product through the build process.
