Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager at Adient's West Point facility plans, directs and coordinates assigned projects so that objectives are met within established timelines and budgets. The role leads project review meetings, maintains program documentation, facilitates customer communication, manages and publishes open issues, tracks project schedules, resolves project issues at first level and ensures compliance with TQC/QS9000 requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review project proposals for scope, timing, resources and budget, coordinate VA/VE activities, deliver customer presentations and maintain the SDT open issues list
• Manage product engineering from Phase V through Phase IX and oversee plant engineering, including new product introductions and launches
• Create and maintain Process FMEAs and work instructions, support tooling setup, and take part in plant objective setting and performance reviews
• Run the plant maintenance program, monitor spare parts and inventory, run the CMMS, plan preventative maintenance and train maintenance technicians
• Take part in HSE investigations and the 8D process, complete safety audits, enforce safe work procedures and stop production when safety or quality concerns arise

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of strong manufacturing engineering experience
• 5 years of managerial experience
