About the role
3M is seeking a Production Planner to join its manufacturing team in Minnesota. In this role you will coordinate production schedules, manage material flow, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and schedule production work centers, monitor output, and improve operational efficiency.
- Procure materials and communicate future requirements to suppliers.
- Collaborate with Production Planning, Value Stream, and Operations teams, participating in Tier processes.
- Analyze customer forecasts and prioritize supply constraints with manufacturing and supply planners.
- Manage parameters such as lot sizes, production cycles, and safety stocks to balance inventory and service.
- Identify, resolve, and escalate production capacity constraints.
- Execute standard production planning work using supply‑chain tools and IT systems.
- Provide data‑driven analysis to support decision‑making and lead continuous‑improvement projects.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Three or more years of combined experience in supply chain, planning, or logistics.
- Strong data mining, analysis, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
