Production Operator – 2nd Shift (2pm‑10pm)

About the role

Join 3M’s Moncure/Pittsboro, NC plant as a Production Operator on the 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm). You will help ensure high‑quality, on‑time production while collaborating with innovative teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machinery, assemble products, package finished goods, and inspect output to meet quality standards.
• Follow established operating procedures and customer specifications to support on‑time delivery.
• Use production computer systems to run processes, enter data, and maintain inventory records.
• Cross‑train and operate equipment across mixing, tripper floor, coloring, C&S, and shipping areas.
• Provide break relief and maintain steady production flow.
• Perform standard and non‑standard manufacturing tests, analyze results, and make process decisions.
• Conduct visual inspections, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping to reduce downtime.
• Communicate process status, issues, and improvement ideas to team members.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (verified prior to start).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to complete and pass 3M‑selected testing.
