Production Manager

About the role

The Production Manager will lead day‑to‑day production and blending operations at Treatt in the United States, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of business targets through World Class Manufacturing principles. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role oversees Team Supervisors and operational staff, driving performance, quality and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and enforce Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality standards.
• Report daily production progress, delays and root causes to the Plant Manager.
• Coordinate with Production Planners on staffing levels and scheduling.
• Partner with R&D to support scale‑up projects and successful roll‑out.
• Lead a “right first time” policy, ensuring orders meet specifications on schedule.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S across the department.
• Manage safe start‑up and shutdown of plants and ancillary equipment.
• Keep Standard Operating Procedures and cleaning processes up‑to‑date.
• Ensure operators are trained on safety‑critical tasks and maintain training records.
• Control labour budget, identify non‑value‑added activities and drive cost‑saving improvements.
• Implement and monitor KPIs for blending, distillation and extraction, including OEE.

Required profile

• Proven leadership of production teams with accountability for delivery, labour management and quality.
• Experience driving continuous improvement, structured problem solving and data‑led decision making.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Engineering, R&D, Quality and Supply Chain.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance and operational discipline.
• Capability to develop operators, process engineers and future operational leaders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing principles, 5S and OEE metrics.
• Familiarity with SOP management and production KPI tracking.
