Automotive Mechanic / Technician and General Service Technician

About the role

Monro, a family of automotive service and tire dealer brands, is hiring an Automotive Mechanic/Technician and a General Service Technician. The General Service Technician is a blended role with front and back shop duties, including at least two days per week at the front counter, acting as key holder and manager on duty when needed. The Automotive Technician starts a comprehensive training program on day one and performs repairs and maintenance on guest vehicles. Pay is $15-$19 per hour for the General Service Technician and $18-$19 per hour for the Technician, depending on experience and certifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform brakes, suspension, tire installation, scheduled maintenance, diagnostics and other automotive repairs within your qualification
• Obtain guest approval after diagnosis and keep a clean, neat work area
• Inspect every vehicle thoroughly and test drive guest vehicles safely
• Use the shop truck safely to pick up inventory
• Collaborate with teammates and lead General Service Technicians

Required profile

• At least 2 years of automotive technician experience
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work with hands overhead, stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs
• Guest and team focused mindset
• State inspector license where applicable

Required skills

• Basic set of automotive tools, or participation in a tool purchase program
• ASE certification in at least one of A1-A8 preferred
• Automotive technical school certificate or degree preferred
