Production Control Room Operator – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Production Control Room Operator monitors and optimises oil and gas production through centralized control systems. Working from the control room, you ensure wells, pipelines and processing equipment operate safely, reliably and efficiently while meeting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control wells, pipelines and production facilities via control‑room and SCADA systems.
• Conduct continuous surveillance of operational parameters, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
• Respond to alarms, abnormal conditions and operational upsets, ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Support start‑up, shutdown and transition activities, and verify equipment readiness before interventions.
• Coordinate corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance with field and maintenance teams.
• Assist in troubleshooting production issues and provide detailed well diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, shift reports and handovers.
• Participate in safety meetings, emergency response and incident reporting.

Required profile

• Experience in oil and gas production operations and control‑room environments.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, production surveillance and operational troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with field personnel, maintenance teams and leadership.
• Sound operational judgment and commitment to safety and environmental standards.
