Product Manager - Personal Care, Commercial Excellence

About the role

BASF's Care Chemicals division, a supplier to the cosmetics, detergents and cleaning industries, is hiring a Product Manager - Personal Care, Commercial Excellence in Florham Park, NJ (hybrid). The role leads the profitability, growth and strategic direction of the UV Filters and Vitamins portfolio in North America, manages margins across the broader Personal Care portfolio and governs pricing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Drive profitable growth of the UV Filters and Vitamins portfolio through disciplined management of price, volume, product mix, cost, margin and customer opportunities.
• Lead the quarterly Margin Management cycle across Personal Care, coordinating supply outlook, cost development, market dynamics and business needs to shape pricing strategy.
• Act as Product Management lead for pricing process governance, ensuring pricing structures, processes, data quality and tool use are sound.
• Develop and execute product line strategies, including positioning, capacity, asset utilization, supply-network options, technology, scale and cost competitiveness.
• Support customer bids, evaluate raw-material and other cost movements and recommend corrective pricing actions.
• Monitor market trends, customer needs, competition, supply-demand dynamics and technology changes to identify opportunities and risks.
• Support forecasting, scenario analysis and portfolio reviews, tracking margin, volume, mix, asset utilization and forecast quality.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, operations, production, supply chain, other product managers and global network partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Business, Marketing, Sales or another relevant technical or commercial discipline.
• Over 5 years of commercial experience in product management, marketing, sales, finance or a related commercial role.
• Experience working across commercial, supply-chain, operational, manufacturing and financial teams.

• Strong financial and analytical capability, including pricing, margin, cost and scenario analysis.
• Ability to turn market, customer, financial and operational information into clear recommendations and plans.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
