Product Engineering Manager

About the role

3M is seeking a Product Engineering Manager to lead a global team focused on sustaining and improving post‑launch products while supporting the scale‑up of new innovations within the Advanced Materials & Transportation Products Platforms (AMTPP). The role blends technical leadership with strategic project management to drive product performance and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Product Engineers, Technicians, and Contingent Workers to meet business objectives.
• Manage a portfolio of Change Management Projects (CMPs) for commercialized products, especially in Thermal Management, Interam, and Advanced Materials.
• Prioritize resources across CMP and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Ensure compliance with processes and documentation for all CMP initiatives.
• Develop and coach cross‑functional global teams across manufacturing, regulatory, application engineering, quality, and supply continuity.
• Support raw material strategy, alternate sourcing, and supplier technical engagement.
• Identify cost‑improvement opportunities within the product portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Three or more years of experience managing direct reports in a technical function within a private, public, government, or military environment.
