Product Designer (Physical AI Platform)

About the role

Medra is building a Physical AI Scientist platform that lets AI operate scientific instruments with human‑level dexterity and reason about experiments autonomously. As the first product designer, you will shape the design practice from the ground up and create intuitive experiences for scientists using the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and establish a design practice, including a lightweight design system and core UX patterns.
• Conduct user research and interviews with scientists to uncover workflows, motivations, and pain points.
• Translate research insights into clear user flows, polished UI, and rapid prototypes.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ship high‑quality experiences in short, iterative cycles.
• Iterate quickly, test designs with cross‑functional teams, and refine solutions based on feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting user research and building empathy for technical users.
• Ability to prototype, test, and iterate rapidly with engineering and product partners.
• Strong communication skills to convey design decisions and build stakeholder alignment.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, scrappy environment and handling intense design trade‑off discussions.
• Optional: interest or experience in robotics or scientific instrumentation.
