Product Designer – Home & Outdoor (Hybrid, Cortez, CO)

About the role
Join the Home & Outdoor division of Helen of Troy as a Product Designer, creating innovative seasonal gear and accessories for brands such as OXO, Osprey, and Hydro Flask. This hybrid position is based in Cortez, CO, with three days on‑site each week.
Key responsibilities
- Research industry trends and product functionality to generate fresh design concepts.
- Develop full design packages from concept through pre‑production, including prototyping, testing, sourcing, and specification (tech‑packs).
- Create detailed product specifications and technical packages using Adobe Illustrator.
- Collaborate with the Sample Room to align designs with sewing and construction capabilities.
- Present design ideas at product reviews through sketches, prototypes, color boards, and CAD models.
- Work with suppliers and developers to source materials and develop custom components using CAD and rapid‑prototyping processes.
- Define and specify colors, trims, and graphic details for each pack.
Required profile
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to convey ideas through hand illustration, sketches, and presentations.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, hybrid environment.
