Product Counsel

About the role

LinkedIn is seeking a Product Counsel to join its Legal & Public Policy team. In this hybrid position you will partner with Product and Engineering teams to provide legal guidance on consumer‑facing products, including AI, privacy, and consumer‑protection matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on legal risks for new and evolving product features, focusing on AI, privacy, and consumer protection.
• Collaborate early with Product and Engineering to embed legal considerations into the development lifecycle.
• Draft and review disclosures, terms of service, and in‑product communications.
• Maintain playbooks, document guidance, and streamline legal processes.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting social media and emerging technologies and translate them into actionable advice.
• Build strong relationships across Legal, Product, Engineering, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and other functions.

Required profile

• J.D. and admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 3 years of legal experience in a law firm or in‑house setting.
• Experience working with technology companies or advising technology clients.
• Proven ability to communicate legal concepts to non‑legal stakeholders.
