Procurement Specialist

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Procurement Specialist to join the Business Office Group and support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) at NASA Langley Research Center. The position reports directly to the Subcontracts Manager and involves purchasing products and services within approved thresholds.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase commercial off-the-shelf, non-part-numbered/high-tech or custom-developed products and services within approved purchase order thresholds
• Establish competition for purchases and maintain an extensive vendor source database
• Analyze vendor proposals, pricing, discounts and delivery dates, and determine fair and reasonable prices
• Coordinate between vendors and requesting departments, and prepare and maintain purchase orders, subcontracts, certifications and other documentation
• Monitor deliveries for conformance to purchase orders and subcontracts
• Administer wage scale information and invoice subcontractor certified payrolls

Required profile

• US citizenship and a valid Real ID-compliant identification
• Six years of progressive, relevant experience in purchasing, material acquisition or business office management (college courses or a degree in business administration may substitute)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Valid driver's license and regular attendance

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
• Good oral and written communication and analytical skills
