Process Engineer – Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

About the role

Moog is seeking a Process Engineer to join its Space & Defense team in Blacksburg, Virginia. You will work on manufacturing, automation, quality and continuous‑improvement projects, supporting slip‑ring production and collaborating with domestic and international partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects related to manufacturing, automation, quality and 5S initiatives.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Support slip‑ring production departments and outsource vendors.
• Oversee manufacturing process development, including tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout and quotes.
• Review and respond to requests for quotes on new orders.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and suggest manufacturability improvements.
• Provide technical problem‑solving support and generate performance reports for management.
• Facilitate technical exchanges with suppliers and Moog teams.
• Cross‑train on multiple product lines and perform other tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings.
• Mechanical design review.
• Electrical design review.
• Manufacturing tooling and work‑instruction development.
• Process development and continuous‑improvement (5S).
