Process Engineer II - Chemicals

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to join our Coatings team in Greenville, OH. The Process Engineer II will support Electrocoat Binder (Ecoat) production, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations while driving standardization and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Operations to maintain safe operation of Ecoat processes.
• Identify and lead projects that debottleneck or improve cost and process efficiency.
• Review and correct formulation and quality issues.
• Provide troubleshooting support, including off‑hours, to safely resume production.
• Communicate process and project information clearly to site and off‑site personnel.
• Offer technical guidance and facilitate root‑cause analysis for investigations.
• Take technical responsibility for all plant trials in Ecoat.
• Deliver solutions for recurring process issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in the chemical industry.
• Self‑motivated with a focus on improving procedures.
• Strong understanding of Process Safety Concepts and EHS/PSM standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional work.
• Ability to mentor an Operations Engineer.
