PRN Safety Personnel

About the role

Aspire Church is looking for a part-time PRN Safety Personnel in Jacksonville, reporting to the Facility Director within the Ministry Support Team. The role promotes a safe, welcoming and well-prepared environment for members, guests, facility users and volunteers, providing on-site safety awareness and facility readiness during events and activities, including times when no other staff are present.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, approachable presence in assigned areas and prepare them before events (opening approved spaces, turning on lights, checking readiness).
• Monitor facility conditions for hazards, unsecured doors, overcrowding or environmental issues, and address minor issues or report others promptly.
• Serve as the on-site safety point of contact: monitor building access, assist members, guests, renters and volunteers, and secure the facility after events.
• Respond calmly to safety concerns, incidents or behavioural issues, and escalate injuries, conflicts, property damage or policy violations according to church procedures.
• Contact emergency services when required and notify church leadership after serious incidents, then document and report all concerns to the Facility Director.
• Support the Facility Director with event setup or clean-up and help Ministry Support team members when asked.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with church or nonprofit environments desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Training in emergency response, situational awareness and conflict de-escalation as directed by church policy.
• Knowledge of risk management, first aid and emergency response procedures.
• Compliance with church policies and applicable laws on safety practices.
