PRN RN - PCU Night Shift

About the role

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, Florida is hiring a registered nurse for a flexible PRN night shift in the PCU (Post-Care Unit). The position is listed at $73 per hour and covers night shifts in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care, then implement interventions safely and document them.
• Collect and document patient health data systematically and on time.
• Collaborate on timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge and transfer.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families on their conditions, procedures and care plans.
• Participate in peer interviewing and peer review, and take part in quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensure safe handoffs and follow CDC isolation guidelines, PPE use and hand hygiene.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license; additional licensure or certification may depend on the unit or state.
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; Associate's degree required.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing).
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs.
• CPR certification (BLS) required; TNCC certification preferred.
