PCU RN Nights Contract (36 hrs/week)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a contract Registered Nurse for its PCU (Post-Care Unit) night shift in Palm Coast, Florida. The schedule is 36 hours per week, and the position is open to StaffFlex nurses who want flexible contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states. No third-party agency is involved.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and document them, and collect and document patient health data
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and follow hospital policy for admission, discharge and transfer
• Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures and care plans
• Participate in peer review, quality and safety initiatives, and act as a patient advocate
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly and perform hand hygiene

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing)
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• BLS/CPR certification required; TNCC preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may depend on the unit or state
