PRN Patient Registration Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a PRN Customer Service Representative for Patient Registration at Ascension St. Thomas Hickman in Centerville. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather accurate information quickly
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)

What we offer

• Base pay of $16.00 - $21.10 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education
• PRN schedule: shifts as needed, minimum 48 hours per month and 24 hours on call, with additional shifts available
