PRN Patient Registration Customer Service Representative

About the role

R1, a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, is hiring a PRN Patient Registration Customer Service Representative for Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. You will be the first point of contact for patients checking into the hospital, helping them through registration in a fast-paced environment. The shift is PRN, with a minimum of 48 hours a month and 24 hours on call, and additional shifts available. Training is provided, so no healthcare background is required.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients efficiently using multiple computer systems
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Help patients who may be ill, anxious or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (training provided)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test and meet vaccination requirements
• Preferred: medical or healthcare experience (not required)
