Private Equity Investment Associate

About the role

Seaport Capital is seeking a motivated Investment Associate to join its private equity team in New York City. The role offers hands‑on experience in sourcing, evaluating and executing buyout and growth‑capital investments in lower‑middle‑market companies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis and build detailed financial models for prospective investments.
• Perform new‑deal diligence, prepare screening memos, investment‑committee presentations, term sheets and lender materials.
• Assist throughout the transaction process, including opportunity identification, risk assessment, execution and financing.
• Support portfolio companies and prepare investor reporting, interacting regularly with management teams.

Required profile

• Pre‑MBA candidate willing to spend 2‑3 years at Seaport Capital.
• 2‑3 years of experience in investment banking, buy‑side, or corporate finance.
• Independent, intellectually curious, self‑starter with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple assignments simultaneously and engaging with senior executives.

Required skills

• Advanced financial modeling.
• Solid understanding of balance sheets, cash‑flow statements and income statements.
