Principal Workday Technical Architect

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Principal Workday Technical Architect to lead the design and evolution of its Workday and People & Capability technology landscape. The role will shape long‑term architecture, ensure security and scalability, and partner with business and engineering teams to deliver modern HR solutions for a global workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the architecture strategy, standards and roadmap for Workday and related HR technologies.
• Design scalable, secure and resilient Workday solutions, including integrations and platform extensions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security and governance stakeholders to translate business priorities into technical solutions.
• Govern architecture decisions, enforce enterprise standards and drive simplification of the technology stack.
• Assess emerging Workday capabilities and recommend innovations to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to engineering teams on best‑practice design patterns.

Required profile

• Extensive experience architecting Workday HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and Learning modules.
• Proven background in enterprise architecture and large‑scale HR technology implementations.
• Strong ability to influence cross‑functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts.
